A True Story Tell You How Important Can One Valve Be

If you wonder how important a small air valve can possibly be, you need to read this story about a fire that started at an Emeryville AC transit station in May 2012.On May 4, 2012, a fire broke out at the AC transit station. The fire was a large hydrogen fire, and damaged equipment at parts at the transit station and also caused the nearby neighborhood to require evacuation for a few days.
The transit station had to shut down until the damage from the fire was repaired, because the station had no way to refuel the 12 hydrogen busses used by the company on a regular basis. The transit station and refueling station was closed the entire summer, with plans to reopen in September 2012. The company lost millions of dollars worth of business due to the fire.

After investigation, the fire marshal found that the cause of the fire was a faulty air valve. The air valve used in a pressure relief valve at the hydrogen plant was made from a hard steel material that breaks down under exposure to hydrogen. When the hydrogen passed through the valve, the valve broke, causing the hydrogen to explode and damage the plant and the surrounding area. The fire burned for two hours before the fire department could put out the flames.

According to both the fire marshal and the plant owners, the fire would have been prevented with the correct choice of valve. Without the correct air valve, any system is bound to have problems. Even something as small as a little pressure relief valve can end up controlling the safety of an entire large plant or facility. When choosing valves, it is vitally important to ensure that the valve is compatible with the material and pressure amount passing through the valve to avoid costly dangers like what occurred in Emeryville.

Pay Attention to Using an Air Diffuser

Air diffusers are common elements in air conditioning systems and, while they are quite simple elements, they play an important role in the overall efficiency of the air conditioning system. They are cheap, easy to install and the benefits are numerous. Here are the basics that you should know about air diffusers.

Air diffusers do exactly what their name suggests: they diffuse air. They are usually fitted on the ends of the air conditioning system’s ducts and have the role of dispersing the pumped air uniformly into the room by forcing it to pass through a blade system that spread it into small and uniform air streams. Air diffusers are passive products and require no power.

There are multiple types of air diffusers, based on the way they diffuse the air flow. Simple one-way diffusers only guide the air flow in one direction. This type of air diffusers is commonly installed over vent covers or wall-mounted air ducts. Two-way diffusers, three-way diffusers and even four-way diffusers are also available for a more uniform spread of the pumped air and are usually used in floor or ceiling installation or in installations with a higher air output.

Air diffusers can also be categorized by their shape or mounting location. A rectangular air diffuser is suitable to be mounted everywhere, whether it’s a wall-mounted air duct, over a floor register or ceiling duct while round air diffusers are more appropriate to ceiling mounting. A good example of rectangular diffusers is Hart & Cooley’s A500 Series of sidewall or ceiling diffusers, available in one-way, two-way, three-way or four-way construction.

The main benefit of using air diffusers is obviously a more uniform air flow. This translates into less stress on the air conditioning system, as it doesn’t have to operate at full throttle in order to cover every corner of the room, and thus reduced costs. Another advantage of using air diffusers is that an uniform air flow will prevent drafts, hotspots and humidity.

Some people mistake air diffusers for air grilles — a fair mistake, considering that these elements sometimes look alike. However, keep in mind that the role of a grille is to prevent objects from entering the ducts and clog them, thus they are being specifically built to be strong. Air diffusers, on the other side, are sensitive devices.

5 Points You Should Know to Make Moisture Removal Efficient

Have you ever walked outside early in the morning and seen tiny drops of water or frost on blades of grass?  Here we provide you several tips you have to know to make moisture removal efficient.

Therefore, In relation to compressed air applications, the lower the dew point, the drier the compressed air will be. The dew point is used as a reference point for gauging how dry the air is.  Since dew points are expressed as temperatures, you will commonly see them referenced in both C°and F°.
Relative humidity and the dew point are closely associated which means the percentage of water vapor in the air compared to the maximum potential content of water vapor at a given air temperature.  For example, if relative humidity is at 100%, the air is maximally saturated, indicating the present air temperature is equal to the dew point temperature.

This term is used when dealing with air that is under pressure, with which you will most likely be working.  The pressure dew point refers to the dew point of water vapor when it is suspended in compressed air that is greater than atmospheric pressure.

Increasing the pressure of a given amount of air will increase the pressure dew point.  Most industry professionals, when working with compressed air, will use the dew point and pressure dew point terms interchangeably.  However, when referring to pressure dew point, both the temperature and the pressure values should be stated.

Maximizing Value and Costs Associated with Air Dryer. One of the most fundamental things to understand about generating dry air for manufacturing applications is the cost associated with obtaining the level of dryness you require.  The drier the air, the higher the associated costs will be.  This is why it makes economic sense to pay only for the level of dryness you really need for your specific application.

For instance, if you own a shop, where you utilize spray painting equipment you would need an air dryer that can provide a dew point anywhere. While the drying equipment needed to reach a -73°C dew point would be more than sufficient for a paint shop, you don’t need to spend the extra money to obtain that level of dryness. Less expensive equipment that can reach a -40°C dew point will do the job.

To begin to formulate an answer to this question, three factors need to be examined in relation to your specific application: the environment, the equipment involved and contact with sensitive products.  We will explore these three factors in our next blog article.  Subscribe to our blog to get updated with the next article!

Everything You Need to Know About Your Air Filter

An air filter is a vitally important component of your car and your home or your office. If you work in a place where air pollutants, such as smoke prevail, an air filter can lessen the rate at which you inhale the smoke infested air.

You can get air filters for your purifiers that are in cartridge form and those that aren’t in cartridge form. Air cartridge air filters need to be changed frequently in order to maintain them.
What Does an Air Filter Do?

Your car’s engine requires fresh oxygen for the combustion process that creates propulsion. Without air, your engine cannot function. However, if the engine uses unfiltered air, it can lead to a build-up of dirt and grime throughout the engine. Engines have an air filter to remove the dirt and debris from the air, delivering clean oxygen to the combustion chambers. If an air filter remains unchanged, the car will run rich, meaning it has too much gas and not enough air. That will cause it to lose horsepower and run poorly.

When and How Do I Change It?
If it’s time to replace your air filter, it’s easy. There is no need to pay a mechanic for this service. Begin by purchasing an air filter. Ensure that it was designed for your make and model of automobile. Once you have your filter in hand, follow the below steps to replace your air filter:
You’ll need a butter knife, one standard screwdriver and one Phillips screwdriver.
Park your car and pop the hood. Let the engine cool for a few minutes.
Locate the air filter encasement. It is usually a black plastic casing near the center of the engine.

There are large metal clips on the sides of the air filter encasement. Slide the butter knife between the clips and pry it open. Loosen the remainder of the encasement.
Once open, you’ll see the air filter. Remove it.

If it is excessively dirty, it should be replaced. An air filter is a cheap replacement and is well worth the expense.
Place the new air filter in the encasement and seal it up.

Regularly Examine Your Air Filter
If your car begins to run slow and sluggishly, make checking the air filter your first stop. Simply replacing the air filter can prevent many trips to the mechanic.

Oil Disposal, the Reasons for Regular Cleaning

What is oil disposal? Why do our equipments or machineries need oil disposal? I never use the oil disposal, but my equipment still works well, why? There must be lots of persons who do not recognize the importance of the oil disposal.

In fact, hydraulic oil will be influenced by air, temperature, moisture, metal catalytic effect and so on, which can produce the oil sludge and colloid in the bottom of the oil tank. If we do not clean the oil sludge and colloid, the new hydraulic oil we add into the tank will be mixed and has a bad influence on the equipment.

In addition, the attrition of the equipment or machinery will make lots of tiny wear particles. So when clean the oil tank, we should also adsorb them with a paste.

When we exchange the hydraulic, we need test the oil at first, not just according to its color but its viscosity, acid value, iron content and so on.

You must have gain how important the oil disposal is, so do not hesitate to protect your equipments or machinery. I believe love is everywhere.

Offset Printing Machines Buying Tips

Company size and requirements is the most important factor for every company in the industry. Here are your business applications will be considered. For example, if you are printing on packaging materials such as bags, polyethylene bags are involved, and then flexo gadgets should be used. But if your company is involved in printing on paper, then offset printing machine or laser equipment to be purchased. For printing on metal, ceramics, clothing, wood and other solid materials, screen printing machines are most effective.

The machine capacity is another important factor when choosing a printing press. Here, the capacity of the machine is intended for the impressions of how the machine can be generated in a specified period of time, as 100 pages per minute. Inkjet printers can be purchased for a low capacity, and if you’re printing business, or if you need high capacity, then you must be offset machines or laser printers.

Print quality is a factor that makes one step ahead of the competition. It is also an important point to remember when buying a printing press. Most companies, it takes the average print quality, use it to their cost relatively less pressure. Image Size quality can be generated from flexographic presses, but if quality is required, then you will be able to choose laser or offset.
Cost of printing machines is also an important factor in this industry. If you have very high laser printer then prints the quality as the best wish, but they have a high cost per page, while the offset printing and electrostatic printing systems for the production of prints relatively low costs are not known.

Automatic printing function
Finally, the brand associated with the production of the machine is taken into account. The manufacturer must be well known and at least an ISO certification. There are many brands on the market in the production of printing systems are involved, you can choose a good manufacturer of some internet research and compare features and prices of machinery.
Buy is the creation of an artistic quality and attractive presentation, rather than a mechanical or technical. The management of all the above points you to a machine best suited for your business to buy.
