Chopsticks Machine – A Creative Invention to Our Life

When it comes to chopsticks, everyone will be very familiar with them, for we are using them everyday as an eating instrument. Chopsticks may be made of any of several materials such as bamboo, wood, gold, silver, ivory, pewter, and plastics. In cross-section, they may be either round or square. Some of them are engraved with colored pictures or pattern for decoration. Since chopsticks play a significant role in our daily life, the equipment to produce them – chopsticks machine deserves much of the credit.

Chopsticks are definitely the symbol of Chinese food culture. On the dining table, almost everything is picked up and brought to mouth by using them (apart from soup). From picking up the rice from the bowl, every piece of food on the plate, to picking the small tiny bones from the fish or eating half meter long noodles, or even cutting off some piece into half; all can be done by chopsticks. So the traditional way of laying the table is always having a pair of chopsticks along with a spoon placed next to the rice bowl, no knives, and definitely no forks.

We normally start using chopsticks at very early age, and then you would develop your own habit to hold them. Different people would hold chopsticks differently. Normally we hold the pair in the hollow between the thumb and forefinger of your fork hand. The one closest to your body should rest on the first joint of the ring finger and stay with the forefinger and middle finger, which manipulate it like pincers to pick up the food. The strength applied by the fingers should vary with the things to be taken hold of. Chopsticks generally should be held at the thicker end about a third along their length for balance and efficiency. For greater reach to pick up food further away, hold the chopsticks at the upper ends.

We Chinese attach great importance to the way we eating food, or you can say eating courtesy in our food culture, so you must know some dos and don’ts when eating. For example, you should not point the chopsticks on someone because it is discourtesy; never spear or poke food with the tips of the chopsticks because it is rude behavior; if you need to rest your chopsticks, leave them on the chopsticks rest or by the side of your bowl or plate, and do not stick them into your food, especially not into rice.

As a part of our food culture, chopsticks machine also contributes a lot. It produces various kinds of chopsticks for our choice and enriches our table or dishes.
