Centrifugal
pump is a device used for separating materials; it is broadly applied in laboratories, construction and in mining. The commonly used centrifuge pump in
laboratory includes high speed refrigerated
centrifuge and low speed refrigerated
centrifuge.
When using a refrigerated centrifuge, the following 6 Points you have to
be Taken Noticed:
1. An independent
socket should be chosen for a low speed refrigerated centrifuge in order to guarantee voltage
stability; if voltage instability occurs, the centrifuge pump should be
connected to voltage-stabilized source to avoid damage to the machine; the desk
centrifuge should be placed on a firm, stable and flat platform, and there must
be enough space around the chassis for ventilation.
2. After using the
refrigerated centrifuge, remember to take off the
lid and wipe off the condensate water, letting it air-dry; before or after the centrifuging
process, the centrifuge rotor should be lifted up and down vertically with
gentle force to avoid collision to the rotor or the spindle.
3. Use neutral
cleaning agent like soap-suds to clear up the dust or other remains on the centrifuge,
but the toxic and radioactive elements requires special handling.
4. The rotor must
be timely replaced if any corrosion or crack happens, and regular check and
maintenance to the rotor is needed to avoid corrosion.
5. Regularly clear
away the dust on the cooling fin which is on the back of the centrifuge via air
compressions.
6. Emergency: if
the cover can’t be opened, you could do it by manual operation.
Refrigerated
centrifuge have the
following advantages such as self-centering drive, programmable operation,
braking system, built-in timer, advanced micro-processor control, and rotor
management system. Programmable refrigerated centrifuges come with user friendly interfaces
which provide all the vital information such as time, elapsed time, speed in
RPM, temperature, and can be timed or set for automatic shut off after specific
times. In addition, the refrigerated centrifuge has its cooling unit on the
back of the unit which can save valuable lab space in your facility. They will
offer a selection of swing out or angled rotors covering a multitude of sizes
of tubes for optimal flexibility all within one compact machine.
