Basic understanding about rising stem gate valve


The rising stem gate valve is usually made from cast or forged steel and is applied for crude oil, water, steam, gases and others nonabrasive media. A rising stem gate valve is designed with straight through bore type with rising stem, outside screw and yoke, bolted bonnet and stainless steel trim. The open and closed position of the valve is easily distinguished by the stem position. The wedge is replaceable without needing to remove the valve from the pipelines.

Rising stem gate valve is a kind of valve which prevents water flow and leakage when fully closed. When the valve is fully opened, it does not have any influence which disturbs water flow. Sealing is achieved by metal rings on the body and on the wedge. When the rings match with each other, they provide sealing. The wedge moves up and down by turning the revolving stem provided with a functional thread, enabling opening and closing of the valve.

Functions and Uses of Gate Valve



It is one of the most popularly and widely used it for domestic and industrial purposes. It is specifically used to obtain uninterrupted flow of water. Used mostly in isolated applications, there is complete drop in the pressure which is due to the retraction of the gate into the bonnet.
According to specific designs, it is divided into different categories. The most commonly used valves include the flexible wedge and the solid wedge gate valve. There are different types of flexible wedge valves which utilizes twin disc parts which are flexible. The parallel side valve is one of the most commonly and widely used flexible wedge valve. These valves are prominently used in stem systems as it can withstand expansion and contraction under varying climatic conditions.

It is usually functions between open and closed functions. The pressure in the pipes drops to a minimal level when the valves are opened. These valves are typically used as the initial valves in any plumbing section. However, the valves cannot be used to control the flow of water in a linear style. It either operates to fully open or fully close the flow.

A partially open gate valve can cause vibrations and permanent damage to pipes. The seating part of the valves can also be damaged by the fluid friction if the valves are partially opened. In these valves, the design is specifically aimed at completely blocking the flow or completely allowing the flow of water.

Significantly improvement on competitiveness of China Valve Industry in recent year


Production data released by China's Valve Industry Association show that the 2011 China's valve industrial added value of a total of 13 sectors all grow with double-digit. In which the valve used in construction, heavy mining valve growing double-digit growth is fastest. In a larger proportion of the total chemical industry and power generation industry, relative industrial valves contribute industry-wide growth as the rate of nearly 59%.

According to the data, the valve industry in China in the first half of the overall efficiency index was 169.55%, increased about 20 percentage points than the same period last year. The main business income margin was 5.33, an increase of 0.49 percentage points. China Valve Industry Association vice president said the reasons for high growth that revitalize the equipment manufacturing conclude the government's policy, strong market demand, industry investment capacity enhancement.

In recent years, China's valve casting industry enter a period of rapid development which has become Asia's largest valve casting machining centers as well as one of the world's largest valve casting market. Especially After the rise of the power station valves, chemical valves, valves, building materials and food valves etc., due to its broad development prospects, lucrative market attractive, and valve industry current has become sought-after investment strived to a lot of business.

Broad prospects for China's valve casting products, such as Knife Gate Valve , Gate Valve  and Pressure Valve all get the development by leaps and bounds, but current per capita consumption level of China is not high compared with other country in the world, at an initial stage for only $ 22 per capita.
